After three and a half years of work, the book “What Are You Saying? The Unapologetic Guide to Public Speaking” is just about to be published.
It successfully completed a Headstart crowdfunding campaign at 127% with 483 supporters, and it will be released from print in October.
A bit about the book:
Each chapter in the book is based on a reason that at some point, a woman “explained” to me why she didn’t — didn’t lecture, didn’t speak up, didn’t participate in a conference, didn’t apply for a position.
A whole variety of reasons, such as:
Fear of public speaking
“I’m afraid I’ll forget what to say”
“What if it’s boring?”
“I need to lose weight first”
“I don’t want to embarrass myself” … and so many more.
Each of these reasons became a chapter in the book, where I combine stories, research, and practical tools to dismantle the “why not” and reconnect to the “why yes.”
Every chapter ends with the speech of a woman leader — (because unfortunately, there aren’t that many of them in the great anthologies of speeches) — and an analysis of what we can learn and apply from these speeches in our daily lives: how to present ourselves, how to open, how to grab attention, and many other practical tools.
The responses from my first readers completely exceeded my expectations — including one woman who wrote to me that she applied for a position she hadn’t dared to ask for before reading the book.
So… “What Are You Saying?” 😉
